This is what our consultants use to ensure effective communication and to keep project delivery on track despite any circumstances.
Workshop facilitation – We have one word for you – Zoom. Zoom has grown to be arguably the best free video conferencing software available today. Some of its standout features are screen & content sharing, messaging, recording, webinars, demos, group meetings, and Zoom rooms.
Collaboration – We recommend going for either Teams or Slack depending on the needs and size of your business. With MS Teams you can stay connected, anytime, anywhere and thanks to the tight integration with Office 365, you don’t have to switch apps when you need to collaborate on a document. Once you create something in Teams, you can immediately share and then co-author it with your colleagues. Slack is easier to set up and administrate, but at the same time provides many of the collaborative functions you will get from MS Teams.
Agile – For managing your agile initiatives and ensuring the flow of incremental delivery, the Atlassian suite is one of the ways to go. Jira Software provides Scrum and Kanban boards out-of-the-box and enables teams to closely monitor their productivity over time. Confluence adds useful dashboards and fosters collaboration. If you are looking for a simple Kanban board, where you can track the team’s progress – Trello is the one we would go for. Easy, collaborative and free for the basic version. On the other hand, is Broadcom’s Rally software. It serves as a central hub for teams to collaboratively plan, prioritize and track work on a synchronized cadence. Teams can visualize their work in the form of lists, boards or timeline views, and more importantly—they can understand how their day-to-day work aligns with the greater goals of the business. Integration with Clarity is another key strength.
PM – For the traditional Portfolio and Project Managers out there, we recommend Clarity or Clarizen. Clarity is a leading project portfolio management solution for the enterprise. It is great for tracking progress, employee queues, schedules, and financials. You can easily create plans and strategic roadmaps. Clarizen is another proven tool for interactive work planning and project management. It is widely configurable to fit your business needs, it allows you to bring together project management, workflow automation, and in-context collaboration. MS Project Online will help you tackle anything from small projects to large initiatives. It is easy to set up and simple to use. With MS Project you can stay on track using the power of dynamic scheduling, the effort needed, project duration, and allocated team members. You can also create interactive dashboards to view overall status and drill down into the details of your projects and programs, using Power BI.
Even if you have the necessary toolset on hand, it is not enough to be productive. Keep in mind that you also need:
- A strong and reliable internet connection
- Chat and conferencing applications
- A dedicated workspace (preferred)
- Self-motivation and discipline
- A strict routine
Going digital means much more than just using a new technology. It’s about re-skilling, changing employees’ mindset and behavior.
